Web Safe Fonts

It is very important to choose the correct typeface / font for your web page because this will have a direct impact on how visitors to your web page will receive your web's content. Your choice of font can give your web page a serious, formal or more casual look - all depending on the font you choose.

To the left you will find an image showing the 5 most used and "web friendly" fonts. You will see that some of them are more readable than others, others maybe looking better, but are not advisable to use.

The "web safe" fonts are the fonts that are usually freely available on most PC's and therefore most visitors to your web page will be able to read this with ease, but if the specific font you have used on your web page is NOT available on the PC of the person reading your web page, the font they see might be a converted one and the effect might not be the same.

Dumelang Media Services mainly uses two main fonts from the "web safe" font list, namely Verdana and Trebuchet.
